Lights are on at the Tin Building
This is a narrative autobiographical painting referencing my early adult life. it depicts a place where creativity and especially music was created in a warm safe and enthusiastic environment.
I learned to make drums and to play them while being surrounded by numerous professional musicians who were engaged in making music for film ,recordings and for pleasure.
The great guitar and bass player and drum maker ,David Wheat ,was an inspiration and mentor to us all right there just a bicycle ride away from my home in Hollywood. The cherished times at the Tin Building ,with its diverse cast of characters has been so formative in my life and the lessons and harmonics I experienced continue to resonate with in me to the present.
